You can also create a Quora page for your dropshipping business to help you establish credibility and build a dedicated following. Ferreira shares that this tactic also helps put you in a position where you can be proactive when it comes to establishing the image you want for your brand.

3. Encourage Referrals

Word-of-mouth advertising (also called referral marketing) is very powerful. In fact, research has found that people are four times more willing to make a purchase if that purchase was recommended by a friend. Customers obtained via referral also have a 16 percent higher lifetime value than customers not obtained in this fashion. So, how do you get more referrals?

Encourage your current customers to share your dropshipping site with those around them, possibly even rewarding them for making the referral. This could be via a discount on their next order if they share your site on social media, or you could send them a free gift for every person they connect you with who makes a purchase from your site. Be creative.

It may seem counterintuitive to help others if you are struggling yourself, but people love companies that support the causes that are near and dear to their own heart. Additional benefits of being charitable as a business include reaching a market that you may not have been able to reach on your own, meeting others who can potentially help you grow your business, and getting some positive buzz circulating about your brand.

To increase your sales via this method, look for some local events and see what it takes to become a sponsor. Even if you just donate your time or a special skill they need that you can provide, getting your business’s name on their site or event marketing materials puts you out there on a larger level.
