I have wanted to write about the wastefulness of poverty for some time now but never found the words.
There is too much around us; I don’t have to prove this point. Because I’d consider poverty being too much even if a single child around the world wakes up with belly rumbling from hunger, even if one mother stops eating to be able to keep her children fed.
Poverty is wasteful for individuals, families and society as a whole.
Individuals live in a maze of predicaments and a haze of under-achievement. As someone once said on this blog ‘how can one ‘be’ when there is nothing to ‘do’.
Families are caught up in a cycle of poverty, deprivation and exclusion.
Societies waste so much ability and creativity.
I didn’t find the words; I found this infographic.
I am publishing to mark officially joining the effort during poverty awareness month. And I hope the words will come!
Feel free to do the same!
